Sakhi – One Stop Centres (OSCs)

Government-run centres where women facing violence can get free support under one roof: emergency help, medical care, counselling, legal guidance, temporary shelter (up to 5 days), and help with police complaints.

If you are seeking shelter for yourself or for someone else, it’s important to ask about the admission or stay process beforehand. Many shelters ask for ID, medical records, or other documents. However, YWCA and Shakti Shalini in Delhi can support women even if you don’t have paperwork.

  • YWCA Shelter Homes
    Safe homes for women (including pregnant or lactating mothers). Free food, medical care, counselling, legal support, and protection are provided. They also offer vocational training, emotional support, and connections to services for rebuilding your life.

  • Shakti Shalini’s Pehchan Shelter Home
    Confidential shelter for up to 10–12 women (with or without children). All living costs are covered, with food, medical care, counselling, legal aid, education, skills training, and creative activities. No fixed limit on stay — women may remain as long as needed, with support for reintegration and follow-up after leaving.

  • Government Sakhi – One Stop Centre, Temporary Stay
    Women (and children: girls of any age, boys up to 8 years) can stay for up to 5 days. During this time, food, shelter, medical care, counselling, and legal support are free. For longer-term shelter, OSC staff connect survivors to Swadhar Greh or Short Stay Homes. ID proof is useful but not always mandatory in an emergency. Website: Locate OSCs in Delhi
