Is my relationship healthy?

Respect and consent are 100% essential in every part of your relationship.

There are many ways to tell if your relationship is healthy. And there are also common warning signs that can help you notice if something feels off or unsafe.

Consent means an on-going, mutual agreement between partners about what you both feel comfortable with and want to experience together.

It’s not just about saying ‘no’, it’s also about feeling safe to say ‘yes’ when something feels right. While consent is often linked to sex, it’s actually an important part of all decisions in a relationship including how you spend time together or show care.

Warning signs can start small but may grow over time. If you see these signs — don’t ignore them. Trust your feelings. You can begin thinking about your safety, and explore support options when you feel ready.

If or when you feel ready, talk to your partner about what you’re okay with, and what you’re not. Encourage them to do the same.

Remember: You deserve to feel safe. You are not alone. Support is available.
